Online Privacy Notice

This notice applies to the information collected when you visit chemcompute.org and other websites that we own or control. This notice describes how this information is handled. Mark Perri is the data controller for all information collected.
Personal Information and Job Data (User Content)
chemcompute.org collects personal information when users register on the site or login via CILogon. Information includes user or institution provided information such as first and last name, email, institution, PI, IP address, and last date logged in. When a user submits jobs their username, IP address, geolocation, and job settings are logged. When a job is completed, statistics such as job queue time and job run time are logged. All visitors to the site are tracked with Google Analytics which records location, session length, pages visited, returning user, etc. Jobs (input and output) are kept as long as there is space on the drive.
Emails and Correspondence
Emails are retained in my inbox. Correspondence generated onsite such as allocation requests are retained in the database.
How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the information above to:
· Monitor usage to improve the user experience and to provide equitable Service Units (SU) / Computer time to all users.
· To contact users to help with jobs that may have not run properly.
· To contact you about changes to the site including downtime.
· Apply for XSEDE allocations for the site.
· Apply for funding to administer and improve the site.
· Analyze job output to find common usage, settings, errors, and corrections.
· Present findings about usage and jobs in talks, workshops, and publications.
· To prevent, detect, or investigate fraudulent, abusive, or illegal act.
We may also use your personal information for operational and other lawful purposes such as security, analytics, operations, fraud detection and prevention, reporting, making back-ups and legal compliance.
We use cookies, local storage, Google Analytics , and log file information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Sites; (b) monitor the effectiveness of our Sites and services; (c) monitor aggregate metrics such as the total number of visitors and traffic; (d) diagnose or fix technology problems reported by our users or engineers that are associated with the IP addresses controlled by a specific web company or ISP; and (e) help you efficiently access information.
International Transfer of Personal Information
Personal information may be transferred internationally due to the international nature of science.
Cookie Policy
Cookies are sent and stored on your computer so that you don't have to log into the site every time you visit. Cookies and local storage are used to store information such as your current job number, so that when you submit a job we can show you the output for that job without having to ask for the job number.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is used collect user information so that we can know how many users access the site and submit jobs and where our users are from. Web Log File Information
Visits to the site are logged by our servers including browser information, operating system, IP address, location, pages viewed, and other information

chemcompute.org do not respond to Do Not Track signals
Information Storage
Information listed above is stored on XSEDE servers and downloaded to Dr. Perri's computer for analysis and backed up on XSEDE and an external drive.
